Northland Woodturners and Woodworkers Club

This club meets in their clubrooms at the Quarry Arts Centre on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays every month (except January) at 6.30pm.  There are some very good craftspeople including at least two who demonstrate overseas as well as in New Zealand.

The first Tuesday is usually devoted to demonstrations by their own members or talks by supply representatives, etc.  On the third Tuesday they usually host visiting experts who demonstrate the various aspects of wood skills.  Every meeting includes a current projects slot, to which members bring problem pieces, unidentified wood, gadgets, finished work etc – a great way to solve your problems and measure your progress against the “guns”.  Other activities include an annual exhibition & sale, a presents at Quarry market days and the Dunkley’s Great NZ Craft Show, the odd field trip and occasion expedition to obtain wood.  Neither age nor gender is a bar to membership.  Everyone is welcome to come along and see us on club night.
